It is one of the most formal events of our club which is reflects the whole club and its functioning through cultural activities. With this ceremony, the new recruits officially become part of the clan and get to know how things work within and around the club. The Orientation Ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting journey of social service, personal grooming, new friends and a lot of fun. It is a platform to discuss club agendas for the upcoming tenure especially with new recruits. It is a small token of appreciation for the new recruits and a trailer for what we have in store in the tenure ahead.

It is well stated that memories are timeless treasures of the heart. Having our Alumni back to where they belong brings loads of memories. It was like walking on the same path we all once carved together.

RCCH Alumni meet brings something new to the table every year making it one of the most exciting and exhilarating events of Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan. Whether it’s dance, drama, music, nostalgia, laughter, thrill or over the top emotions, we have got it all covered in this amazingly crafted event. We’re pretty firm to make you believe in the saying that ‘ONCE A HIMALAYAN, ALWAYS A HIMALAYAN’.

Roshni is one of the most beautiful events of the club. Under this, a drive for ‘Swadeshi Diwali’ is conducted. Products made by local potters are promoted to boost their sales against Chinese products. Diyas made by Indian sellers are then painted by the ‘Special Kids’ from Special schools of the tricty and we also involve students of our “Happy Schools” and “Apni Pathshala” centers, which are exhibited on D-Day in a delightful evening. The unending smiles of the Rotaractors, the tiny tots, and the local sellers are enough to describe the beauty of this event.

This one day fitness based event was successfully managed by the Rotaractors, and also brought awareness about environment issues and helped spreading a word that we should take care of our mother Earth. The first ever season of this event witnessed a huge crowed of runners from the tricty and outside. It was also a fund-raiser for our organization and was successful in all possible ways.

“Pirates of the city” is our flagship event introduced six years back and now it is the biggest treasure hunt in the Tricity which provides an amazingly unique platform for curious minds. It is an interesting activity in which the participants are given certain clues and they move forward in this contest by deciphering the given clues, searching for them all across the city. Finally, the winner gets the wonderful treasure chest containing amazing surprises and gifts. This event plays a very important role to meet our objective of Happy Schools by helping us raise funds for the same.

To smile at someone is pleasant, but bringing a smile on someone else’s face is ecstatic.

KIDO is a sports extravaganza and a talent hunt organized for orphans which give them a moment of joy and explore their talent every year.  The core idea of this event was initiated by our Parent Rotary and it’s been ten years now that the event is being organized by the club with the support of Rotary Club Himalayan Ranges Mansa Devi. The main aim of the event is to encourage the kids and bring happiness to their lives, for the child is the happiest at no other place than the playground. With the spirit of rotaractors and the enthusiasm of the childrens, we try to make the world a better living place.

Children without family are the most vulnerable people on the earth. No matter how deprived they are of so many benefits, they are precious. We all have different desires and needs, so do the orphan children. Thus, the life of an orphan is not easy. They also have dreams, desires, and wishes. Sadly, their desires many a times remain unfulfilled.

Having this thought in mind, Rtn. Gaurav Ghai came up with the idea to fulfill the wishes of orphan girls, and it was then turned into a full fledged project initiated by Rotary Club Himalayan Ranges under the name of “CHOTI SI KHWAISH” in collaboration with our club. In this event, Rotaractors visit orphanages, and ask the children to write one wish they want to get fulfilled. The clubs together fulfill their wishes, and bring smiles on the faces of those gems. We are proud to be a part of this wonderful initiative, that made us realize that our small steps can bring a change in the lives of those who are not so privileged.

We aspire to do everything with perfection, be it work or fun. Thus we put on our favorite dresses with a matching pair of shoes and a broad smile on face with a heart full of love. After working harder than ever, organizing events and activities for the whole year to serve the society in every way possible, we get together every year to cheer up our efforts and celebrate the success with fun fumes and frolic enthusiasm. The club organized the ultimate “Himalayan Challenge” for its enhancement and making new bonds with different clubs of different districts. In this online event, challenges were given to different clubs to expand their horizons, and work together towards a common goal. They had to complete various challenges in four avenues which are community services, club services, vocational services, and International Services. Ten challenges from each category were assigned. They had to complete a minimum of 2 challenges in each avenue.

RAC Rookie Midtown won this challenge. The event was a complete success as we were able to make some pretty inactive clubs of our district active and thriving, with a chance to interact with many clubs and spread our wings in the International Services

“Leadership is the quality to translate Vision into Reality.”

Our club has many passionate leaders, who put all their efforts in the events and activities, and work very hard to serve the society.

As we start our new tenure with our new leaders, we always try to achieve more than the previous tenure, and for this, a special event “Himalayan Summit” is organized at the beginning of every tenure, so that the newly made leaders can get an idea of how to lead the team, so as to ensure team spirit among the members and fulfill the goals.

This session is conducted every year by our past/current Presidents generally, who have already led our organization. They share their experiences of leading the club, the difficulties they faced and how to cope up with them, initiatives they took, their accomplishments, finding solutions to different problems, building trust and good relationships with the team members and delegating the tasks.

The best years of one’s life are the childhood days. The sweet memories of this period are glorious. They have the freshness of a dream. Childhood memories are very important in our lives. They make us remember the best times of our lives. They shape our thinking and future. When one has good childhood memories, they grow up to be happy individuals. Making these memories worth recalling is the main chore of our various projects.

We celebrate various special days like Republic Day, Independence Day, Children’s Day etc with these beautiful souls, educating them and having fun at the same time. Every year, we make sure that children learn about our country and the importance of these historic days, and take pride in our vast culture by means of some interesting activities.

We understand that the future of the nation lies in the hands of these young souls and making their childhood astounding is our duty. Thus a great emphasis is given on the same.

Spreading smiles is one of the things that we Himalayans are known for. Catering to the needs of children, youth and elderly, members of Rotaract Club Chandigarh Himalayan try to contribute in every aspect. With this motive, we celebrate a number of festivals with the people who don’t have their own families to celebrate them with.

We try our level best to make them feel like home on days such as Diwali, Christmas, Lohri etc. Christmas eve is of joy, lights, sparkle, shine, and of course, of children. An eve where children eagerly wait for Santa’s gifts. A festival to bring happiness, joy, and toys among children, and hence we try to become a Santa in their lives. Lohri is also celebrated with an intention to spread smiles, happiness and to spend some quality time with the senior citizens and kids.

These days are well spent with contentment on every face, which gives every volunteer the enthusiasm to work hard for the innocent children and wise elderly.

The world was under lock down due to the pandemic. Social and Economic crisis were on their verge. While a lot of us filled our kitchens with eatables, many were still there with empty utensils. They didn’t even have a morsel to decrease the fire of hunger. Government was doing as much as it could. But it takes time to reach the help to these needy.

So recalling the motto “Service above Self”, our parent rotary , Rotary Club Himalayan Ranges Mansa Devi, along with our club members took the responsibility on their shoulders. We started a project “Raahat” to help the impoverished sections of the society. Without being selfish, our fellows hold hands of the unprivileged, supporting them in their dire need.
